Why Black Women Are Leaving the Workforce
Black women are leaving workplaces in record numbers. That may spell macroeconomic trouble. But for us, as two of the reported 552,000 Black women who’ve left the labor force in the past year, it means something different: liberation.
Many Black women are racing to entrepreneurship. Working within systems where we feel undervalued and are underpaid, it is no surprise why. For many of us, entrepreneurship is the only way to enjoy a taste of freedom in these United States of America. We can actually experience the promises of our country’s Declaration of Independence.
